Public Hearings on Greater Amberjack Allocations and Catch Limits

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will hold five in-person public hearings and one webinar to solicit public comments on Draft Reef Fish Amendment 54 – Modifications to Greater Amberjack Catch Limits and Allocations. The Council is obligated to act on the results of the most recent greater amberjack stock assessment (SEDAR 70) to ensure that management measures, including the overfishing limit, acceptable biological catch, annual catch limits, annual catch targets, and allocations are based on the best available scientific information.

The public hearings will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude no later than 9:00 PM, local time. October 5, 2022
