The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Gear Monitoring Team (GMT) released the following schedule for their Turtle Excluder Device (TED) outreach & courtesy inspections for Louisiana.

  • March 1, 2023
    Louisiana Fisheries Forward Summit 2023
    The Pontchartrain Center – 4545 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70065
    The GMT will have a booth set up at the event providing TED outreach.
  • March 13, 2023, to March 17, 2023
    Western Coastal Louisiana – Cameron Parish, Vermilion Parish, Iberia Parish & St. Mary Parish
  • March 27, 2023, to March 31, 2023
    Central Coastal Louisiana – Terrebonne Parish & Lafourche Parish
  • April 17, 2023, to April 21, 2023
    Eastern Coastal Louisiana – Jefferson Parish, Plaquemines Parish & St. Bernard Parish

To increase the productivity and efficiency of the team, NOAA is asking that those interested in participating in these TED outreach and courtesy inspection events reach out in advance. By doing this, NOAA can schedule accordingly and ensure that everyone who needs these services while they are in our area can be helped. You can contact NOAA at the following numbers or email addresses for more information on when and where the GMT will be. NOAA can let you know how to get your TED inspected or answer your questions. The NOAA GMT looks forward to meeting you and ensuring your gear is compliant and ready to be fished.
