April LA Wildlife & Fisheries Commission Meeting

The next regular Commission Meeting will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Wildlife and Fisheries Headquarters Building located at 2000 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, LA

The following items will be discussed:

1.     Call to Order
2.     Pledge of Allegiance
3.     Roll Call
4.     Adoption of March 02, 2017 Commission Meeting Minutes
5.     Commission Special Announcements / Personal Privilege
6.     Enforcement Reports March, 2017 – Captain Edward Skena
7.     Presentation of the 2016 Louisiana Wildlife Officer of the Year Award to Sergeant Scott Bullit – Mr. Chris Kinsey, Shikar Safari Club International
8.     Receive Legislative Update – Cole Garrett, Attorney / Legislative Liaison
9.     Consider a Notice of Intent to Amend the Experimental Fisheries Program – Cole Garrett, Attorney / Legislative Liaison
10.  Receive a Presentation on Local Game and Fish Preserves Governance and Authority – Daniel Henry, Jr., Deputy General Counsel
11.  Receive a Final Summary on Public Comments and Consider Formal Adoption of Amendments to previously approved Notice of Intent for the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the 2017-2018 Season, the Resident Game Hunting Season for the 2017-2019 Hunting Seasons, the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the Turkey Season, the Turkey Hunting Areas, and Seasons, and Bag Limits for the 2018 Turkey Season, and the Migratory Bird Seasons, Regulations, and Bag Limits for the 2017-2018 Hunting Season – Steve Smith, WMA Program Manager
12.  Consider Formal Adoption to previously approved Notice of Intent to Amend the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the 2017-2018 Season, the Resident Game Hunting Season for the 2017-2019 Hunting Seasons, the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the Turkey Season, the Turkey Hunting Areas, and Seasons, and Bag Limits for the 2018 Turkey Season, and the Migratory Bird Seasons, Regulations, and Bag Limits for the 2017-2018 Hunting Season – Steve Smith, WMA Program Manager
13.  Receive a Presentation on the LDWF Shrimp Management Program and Discuss the possibility of a Special Commission meeting in late April for the setting of the 2017 Spring Shrimp Season – Jeff Marx, Biologist and Shrimp Program Manager
14.  Receive input on Red Snapper Management from members of the Louisiana commercial, charter, and private recreational sectors
15.  Set July, 2017 and August, 2017 Commission Meeting Dates
16.  Receive Public Comments
17.  Adjournment
