Gulf Council’s Outreach and Education Technical Committee to Meet

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will convene the Outreach and Education Technical Committee on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST. The meeting will be held at the Council offices located at 2203 N.Lois Ave, Suite 1100, Tampa, Florida 33607.

The Technical Committee will discuss outreach and education efforts on fish measurement, barotrauma and the use of venting/descending tools, lion fish, and anecdotal data collection. The Outreach and Education Technical Committee will also review Council communications analytics and discuss the potential for a fisherman’s best practices website.

About the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
