RESCHEDULED: Oyster Industry Workshop-Houma

This free workshop will offer critical legislative updates for oyster harvesters and dealers, in particular new sack labeling requirements from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

Scheduled topics include:

  • Method of sale of oysters (LDAF)
  • Oyster harvesting tags & requirements (LDHH)
  • Private seed production
  • Industry legislative updates
  • Avoiding common enforcement issues
  • LFF videos and fact sheets

Hands-on demonstrations will include new refrigeration techniques and equipment, including the LFF Seafood Quality Training Lab.  Sea Grant will also give an update on clam harvest regulations.

The workshop will be held at Dumas Auditorium, 301 West Tunnel Blvd., Houma, LA 70360 from 10 am – 1 pm. For more information about the event, contact:
