Special Gulf Council Meeting: Final Action on State Management of Rec Red Snapper

08:30 am - 02:00 pm @
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will meet on Monday, February 18th, 2019 at the Doubletree by Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore in Tampa, Florida. This special Reef Fish Committee and full Council meeting will be held to allow the Council the opportunity to take Final Action on Reef Fish Amendment 50: State Management of Recreational Red Snapper. The Council decided to hold this special meeting because the Exempted Fishing Permits expire at the end of 2019, and it wanted to ensure that the regulations can be implemented in 2020.
The Reef Fish Committee will convene at 8:30 AM to review the Final Draft of Reef Fish Amendment 50. At 9:45 AM, the Full Council will convene and public comment will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Following a brief lunch break, the Council will consider final action from 1:00-2:00 PM.
The agenda and meeting materials are posted on the Council website at www.gulfcouncil.org. Meeting materials will be posted as soon as they are available.
Council meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live over the internet.
